Dear Parents, Guardians, and Stakeholders,
We hope this message finds you well.
We wish to inform you of adjustments made to the upcoming Parent/Teacher Conferences scheduled for this spring. To better accommodate both staff and parents, we have revised the format and timing of these conferences.
1.) Parent/Teacher Conferences will now take place on Tuesday, March 5th, from 1:00PM to 5:00PM, without a scheduled break. Additionally, alternative times are available on Friday, March 22nd, and Friday, April 12th, from 1:00PM to 4:00PM. Parents can request and schedule meeting times through the front office. For those who do not schedule in advance, conferences will be conducted via walk-in scheduling, on a first-come-first-served basis.
2.) Please be aware that Preschool Parent/Teacher Conferences will not take place on Tuesday, March 5th. Instead, they are scheduled for Friday, March 22nd, and Friday, April 12th, from 8:00AM to 4:00PM.
3.) Similarly, there will be no 5th Grade Parent/Teacher Conferences on Tuesday, March 5th. These conferences will be held on Friday, March 22nd, and Friday, April 12th, from 1:00PM to 4:00PM.
4.) Lastly, there will be no JH/HS Science Parent/Teacher Conferences on Tuesday, March 5th. They will be scheduled for Friday, March 22nd, and Friday, April 12th, from 1:00PM to 4:00PM.
These adjustments are aimed at optimizing this spring's conference process, ensuring ample time for meaningful discussions between teachers and parents about student progress. We appreciate your flexibility and understanding.

Preschool/Headstart updates
Good evening, Leola family!
The Leola School District will have a 10:00AM start tomorrow, Tuesday, January 16th, due to the Windchill Warning. Please remember: When school begins at 10:00AM, breakfast is not served and the younger, morning preschool group does not attend.
If there are barriers preventing your child from arriving by 10:00AM, please contact the main office. Have a good night!
The boys' basketball game scheduled for today, Saturday, January 13th, between the Titans and the Ellendale Cardinals up in Ellendale, has been postponed and will be rescheduled at a later date. Stay safe and warm, everyone!
Picture Retakes is Tuesday, November 7th. Please return your photo packet if wanting retakes.
All costumes must be school appropriate and no masks are allowed.

Extra Yard for Teachers
The NFHS, the College Football Playoff Foundation, and the Leola School District are again participating in the Extra Yard for Teachers Program. The purpose of the CFP Foundation lies in supporting Pre-12 education across the country. In support of the CFP Foundation’s primary platform, Extra Yard for Teachers, we shine a spotlight on our work and collaboration to inspire and empower teachers.
The Extra Yard for Teachers game ball will be awarded to a teacher in the Leola School District who goes above and beyond to make a positive impact on our students. Please select one teacher in our school district most worthy of this acknowledgement.
The winning teacher will be awarded a special football, a DonorsChoose.org gift card, and an Extra Yard for Teachers T-shirt in recognition of their outstanding performance.
The winning teacher will be acknowledged ahead of the volleyball match against North Central, on Tuesday, October 3rd.
Voting ends at 1:00PM on Monday, October 2nd, 2023.

Titan Football update for Saturday:
The varsity game against Ipswich will now be at 12:00 Noon instead of 1 pm, to try to avoid the worst of the weather.
The junior high game will still happen, but will now use a 30 minute running clock and they will only play on half of the field.
FB game tomorrow at NSU will be livestreamed through Hubcityradio.com and on KSDN 930 AM or 102.1 FM

Youth Football
Thanks to an anonymous donor, the only school supplies you will be required to bring for your student for the 2023-24 school year are the following:
o Gym shoes (grades Preschool-12)
o Headphones/earbuds (grades K-12, no bluetooth/wireless)
o Calculator (prefer Texas Instruments TI-30XIIS) (grades 6-12)
Preschool – 5th grade will need the following for winter weather:
o Snow Pants
o Winter Coat
o Gloves
o Hat
o Snow Boots
